About Pilot Travel Deals
An independent English guide to what trips cost once every fee is counted. No bookings, no ads, nothing for sale.
A pilot guides you through water you don't know. We do that for travel prices: we read the deal and show you what it costs. We don't sell deals.
What the site is
Pilot Travel Deals is an independent English guide to what trips cost once the fees, holds and deposits are in. A low nightly rate tells you little. We add up the room, the resort fee, the car, the deposit and the card charges, so you can compare totals before you book.
The guides cover planning a budget, hotels, car rental, and trips with family or friends. The trip budget calculator does the same adding-up for your own numbers.
What it isn't
We are not a travel agency, a booking site or a deals feed. We take no bookings and sell nothing, and we can't see, change or cancel a reservation. We don't publish discount codes or promise anyone a cheaper price. If you need help with a booking, the company you booked with is the only one that can give it.
Who runs it
The site was relaunched in 2026 by a new editorial team. It has no connection to anything previously published at this address, so please don't read older copies of the site as ours.
The guides are edited by Dana Whitlock, who is responsible for what they say. Dana Whitlock is a pen name. AI tools help us research and draft, but no guide goes up until its figures have been checked against the sources it lists.
Independence
No hotel, rental company or card issuer pays to appear in a guide or to change what it says. Today the site has no ads and no affiliate links. The rules we would follow if that changed are on How we check.
